The officers of the sophomore class will hold the second annual Hayley Hustle 5K on May 19 at West Henderson High School and on the cross country trail at Rugby Middle School. 100 percent of the profits will benefit Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camps and research departments.
Registration for the race begins is from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Pre Registration costs $15 for adults, $10 for children 10 and under and $40 for a family. Registration at the event is $20 for adults, $15 for children and $45 for a family.
The race was inspired by sophomore Hayley Morris who has muscular dystrophy. Chandler Danielson, sophomore class president, said that the race was highly successful last year.
“Last year we had 115 participants and raised over $3,000. It was really cool because even people who couldn’t run the race could walk or volunteer,” Chandler said.
