Memories will be made at the Senior Picnic. Whether you’re going to be bouncing on inflatables, or tossing a football, everyone is sure to have a great time. The annual Senior Picnic is a great tradition for the graduating seniors.
The Senior Picnic is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23 from 11:20-1:20 p.m. Weather permits if it will be in the stadium or not. There will be sports, lots of food, huge inflatables and all around fun. To make this event fully enjoyable for everyone, we ask that each family please donate $5.00. Please send it in an envelope labeled “Ms. Perron / Senior Picnic.”
The annual Senior Picnic: a great event for seniors to relax throughout third period. The picnic usually happens in October and has been going on for years. It involves plenty of food, tie dying t-shirts, bouncy inflatables and time to have fun with your best friends.
“This year is the first time we have a parents committee which involves Cindy McCall and Kelly Littauer,” said student body president, senior Chandler Danielson. “It’s exciting that someone from the outside is helping. They have a lot of exciting things planned.”
In 1999, the Senior Breakfast was created. Slowly over time it evolved into a cookout, and eventually became the famous picnic well known and loved by many. Leaving traditions for seniors of years to come.
As part of the picnic, signing the senior banner is a continuing tradition that brings mixed emotions of leaving behind friends and graduating.
“Senior year is always an emotional rollercoaster,” said Danielson. “We have our traditions such as signing the senior steps and the annual senior picnic. The picnic tends to be the favorite for most people, probably because of the inflatables, which are always a big hit.”
Originally the inflatables were not a part of the Senior Picnic. In 2006, the idea was thought up and has been a welcomed addition since.
“We really hope that all seniors will come out and enjoy the picnic. It will be a great time and will be something worth remembering,” said Danielson.
