Brew Ridge Deli, the new coffee and sandwich shop had their grand opening on Aug. 22, in Hendersonville, NC. The new coffee and sandwich shop has a menu of savory breakfast foods, yummy sandwiches, and delicious coffee drinks. The deli is located right across from Bath and Body Works in the Blue Ridge Mall. 

 DJ Harrington, the owner, was generous and let a student from West Henderson, Una Fong, create her drink. Fong said, “The owners are very sweet for letting me make my drink and it was just a very cool experience to see how one of my favorite drinks is made. That is an iced caramel latte and it came out perfectly with the right amount of sweetness and caramel flavor.” 

Harrington said that he wasn’t expecting to buy the place, and he had wanted to open up a food truck instead. Trying to shop for equipment, he came to the Blue Ridge mall to buy a drink machine, but got caught up talking to the previous store renter that owned Olive Press Deli. The previous owner told him she was only supposed to be in that location for three months, and she was looking for somebody to take over the spot with a new restaurant.

 “It was a delicious experience and I recommend it to all of WHHS. The chocolate chip muffin was really good.”
