You know that feeling of peace when you curl up in a cozy spot and smell the freshly baked cookies, well you’re in luck because here at West Henderson High School we have the perfect thing for you, NEW BOOKS! At the West Henderson High School Library, eight to ten books arrive every month including all different genres for you to choose from. Don´t like the new arrivals well check out West Henderson’s student and teacher’s top picks! Top Picks was an idea created by a senior at West Henderson High, Paityn Reasoner. Top Picks is where students and teachers pick their favorite books from the school library to be put on display. The new books from this month include horror, romance, fantasy, murder mystery, comedy, sci-fi, sports, and many more. One of our librarians, Mrs. Dellinger says one of the books she’s most interested in is Viva Lola Espinoza because she says “I really like this book because I was a Spanish teacher. It has a Hispanic girl as the main character Living in the United States, it talks about her story and experiences living there, and I like that, so it’s probably the first one I’m going to read.” Mrs. Dellinger also talks about how she loves that the library represents different cultures and has a lot more including books. Mrs. Jacobsen another librarian at West also talks about how she likes the diversity of the new books and how they cover different interests as well. She also talks about how the top picks are a good idea because it lets you know the books are good enough to be recommended. You can find the new books by going to the computer in the library and clicking on recently added books and then click see all or they are usually located on the table at the front. So go check out the new books in the library or top picks, curl up in your cozy spot, eat cookies, and enjoy the day.
