West’s baseball team will be playing the North Henderson Knights tonight, April 2, at 7 p.m. at home. The Falcons are currently 5-6, and the Knights are 4-8.
“From what I’ve seen, (North’s team) is not that great,” sophomore Christian Riley said. “Their record isn’t great, and we can easily beat them as long as we show up and play.”
West is coming to this game with a three-game winning streak, and players said they are looking for revenge from last year’s game against North. In that game, North came back from a deficit to beat the Falcons in the last few innings of the game.
“We lost focus in some of the innings (last year),” junior Kyle Gaither said. “We beat ourselves down and lost the game, and then we had to come back and try to fight back, but it was already too late.”
Though the game is predicted by many to be intense, players and fans alike are excited to see what happens.
“(I’m excited) to get a big win against a rival team,” sophomore Sawyer Hall said. “(I expect to see) a lot of energy and hype for the game.”
