Senior Anna Morrison was crowned homecoming queen during the halftime ceremony of last Friday night’s game against Pisgah.
“It felt really nice to be the homecoming queen,” Morrison said. “It was really an honor to have that experience.”
This year was Morrison’s first time on the homecoming court.
“I was really surprised when my name was called,” Morrison said.
Morrison participates in Student Government Association, Sheepdog Club, FCCLA, DECA and Pride and Junior Civitan Club. Morrison also plays basketball and runs cross country. Morrison is also very involved in her church’s youth group.
“I try to be as outgoing as I can and involved in as many different activities as I can,” Morrison said. “I try to support everything at West.”
Morrison was escorted by Samuel Littauer. Both Morrison and Littauer participate in SGA. Morrison is executive vice president and Littauer is student body president.
“Samuel and I have always been really good friends,” Morrison said. “We’ve been in student government all four years together and he’s a good representative also.”
The other senior class representatives were Mary Catherine Ball, Lindsey Crawford, Gracie Fender, Cora Hilliard and Audrey Reed.
“I’m very thankful that the student body voted me to be their homecoming queen,” Morrison said. “I’m really thankful they would choose me to represent their class on the homecoming court.”
