“This production involves so many different kids from so many different grade levels and so many interests all doing one big thing,” Resi Dolbee, the choreographer, said. “It’s quite entertaining, and we hope that the student body and the faculty and staff will turn out to support these kids and all their hard work.”
The show takes place at Madame Dubonnet’s School for Young Ladies on the French Riviera in the 1920s. Polly, an English heiress, falls in love with Tony, an aristocrat masked as a delivery boy. Conscious of her father’s warning to beware of boys dating her for her family’s money, Polly pretends to be just a secretary. Things get complicated when Tony’s parents, Lord and Lady Brockhurst, unexpectedly arrive in Nice searching for their son. Polly and Tony connect over the fact that they share the same secret – they both come from wealthy families.
“We put a lot of work into it and it’s really fun to just have everyone show up and to perform,” senior Jacob Shoemaker, who plays the role of Tony, said. “That’s what we really work for — to make everyone else happy.”
