Anger and frustration clouded senior Payton Culler’s as she positioned herself for the putt. The sun felt hot on her back and the club heavy in her hands. The women’s golf team was at the ninth hole at the Franklin Mill Creek course on Sept. 5. Though West came in first, the team had expected for more.
“It wasn’t our best match, but we still played better than everyone else,” said Culler. “As I was playing, I knew that it was going to be close. I had to put a bit more effort into the match and make sure I wasn’t becoming upset because of my poor performance.”
As was expected, the team is once again undefeated.
“I hope that we win every match and the conference. I have faith in my fellow players,” said Culler. “We can continue to be successful and dominate.”
The team’s next match is on Sept. 11 at Crooked Creek.
